Louis Vuitton will release a book entitled From Louis to Vuitton, published by Assouline and written by Arthur Dreyfus, with a foreword by Pietro Beccari, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton. This comprehensive work opens the doors to Louis Vuitton’s fascinating universe and offers a visual narrative of its history, from its origins to the present day. Featuring 320 images, 406 pages and 54 thoughtfully selected words, explored as themes — a nod to 1854, the year the House was founded, From Louis to Vuitton can be read in any order, providing an unforgettable experience.
This book explores Louis Vuitton’s blend of innovation and tradition, its iconic creations, the Asnières workshop and the contributions of its Artistic Directors. It begins with the House’s founding by Louis Vuitton, who, at just fourteen years of age, left his village, Anchay (in the Jura region), to go to Paris, where the luggage maker became the icon for the spirit of travel and French chic. From the very beginning, the House has been able to combine innovation and tradition to create timeless pieces.
From Louis to Vuitton retraces this extraordinary adventure, from Asnières — where the historic workshop and adjoining family home are located — to Louis, with endless potential. Throughout its pages, it highlights Louis Vuitton stores as architectural gems that encompass all of the House’s crafts — men’s and women’s fashion, leather goods, accessories, timepieces, jewellery and fragrances. The book also sheds light on each of the House’s Artistic Directors who contribute to or have contributed to various aspects of its history.
In addition to Louis Vuitton’s exceptional innovative spirit and know-how, this book also celebrates modes of transport — by land, air or sea — as symbols of the House’s spirit of travel. From Louis to Vuitton evokes historical places, the reinterpretation of the House’s codes and Louis Vuitton’s commitment to the climate as part of its “Committed Journey”, while highlighting its close ties to sport, notably the House’s partnerships with the America’s Cup and F1, as well as exhibitions that are presented worldwide.
With its Damier-style case and vibrant yellow cover referencing the saddle stitch, the book will be available from November 3rd, 2025 in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide, on louisvuitton.com, in Assouline bookstores, and on Assouline.com. In addition, Louis Vuitton will create an extraordinary limited-edition trunk for the book, very limited quantities available worldwide. Together, From Louis to Vuitton and its trunk offer an invitation to delve into the House’s universe and let yourself be carried away by a story laced with creativity.
