NEW “SURREALIST” PERSPECTIVES WITH REVOLVE AND POLYHEDRON

The emotional journey of Exaequo Melting Watch into the surrealist world continues. New interpretations and shapes of time emerge with two unprecedented models, designed to experience time from a fresh perspective, far from any convention.

Who said Surrealism belongs to the past? On the contrary, it’s more relevant than ever—especially for those who truly wish to stand out from the crowd and embrace a fluid and subjective vision of time, one that can be distorted by human perception and challenges conventions, social structures, and mainstream thinking.
After reviving an iconic model by updating its stylistic features without altering the original design that once made it popular—and introducing several new dial and case variations—Swiss brand Exaequo Melting Watch is now ready to go even further. New shapes push beyond imagination, all while preserving the brand’s unique and established identity.

The journey begins with the Polyhedron Melting Watch, inspired by the design of the very first Exaequo. It retains the iconic case flattened in the center but now reimagined with a faceted look in 925 sterling silver, measuring 55.29 mm by 35.35 mm. This 62-facet case, weighing 38.5 grams of silver, requires at least two full days of both manual and machine work for each piece, not including the production of other parts or assembly.

Beneath the mineral glass are three dial variations, making up a total of 101 commemorative pieces celebrating 101 years since the first Surrealist manifesto. These feature black Roman numerals contrasting against a white background—including a reverse version—and a special edition with the number 101 at the center of the dial.

Inside the case beats the precise Ronda 751-A1G3 quartz movement for hours and minutes, protected by a back secured with four screws, offering water resistance up to 30 meters and easy access for battery or full movement replacement.

In stark contrast, Revolve introduces a completely different aesthetic with a sharp, asymmetric case where curves give way to acute and rounded angles. When rotated, the shape evokes surrealist lips—an unexpected yet playful nod to the movement.

A symbol of radical nonconformity, Revolve comes in a polished 316L stainless steel case (51.2 mm x 33 mm) with three dial variants (white, blue, and black), as well as a gold PVD-coated version with matching black, white, or gold dial options.

Behind the mineral crystal, hour and minute hands are powered by the Ronda 762-AJG3 movement, operated via a crown placed on the left side of the case. The look is completed by a black silicone strap with a deployant clasp. The screwed case back ensures 30-meter water resistance.

With Polyhedron and Revolve, presented for the first time at Geneva’s Time to Watches fair, Exaequo Melting Watch continues to reinterpret Surrealism—transforming it into new designs with strong identity, unique character, and timeless style.
