GUEBLY Unveils Its New Creation: CH1 Rétrograde

CH1 Rétrograde

A Design Reimagined by Éric Giroud

Just one year after debuting its first timepiece, the Prologue, GUEBLY unveils a bold new creation: the CH1 Rétrograde. For this model, the brand partnered with renowned designer Éric Giroud to completely rethink the watch’s architecture—from the case and display to proportions and ergonomics.

The result: a 23-faceted case in grade 5 titanium—lightweight, modern, and architecturally refined. Visible screws fix the dial in place, lending the piece a technical, daring edge. Both inside and out, every detail has been reimagined to further GUEBLY’s ambition: to create a rare collector’s piece, uncompromising in its coherence, craftsmanship, and horological excellence.

GUEBLY’s Signature: Craftsmanship and Excellence

Produced to just 80 examples, the CH1 Rétrograde reflects GUEBLY’s core belief in the harmony of minimalist form and complex craftsmanship. Every component—from the dial to the hands—is hand-finished according to the most demanding Swiss watchmaking traditions.

An Exceptional Dial

The CH1 Rétrograde’s dial showcases artisanal excellence at its purest. Hand-guilloché on a 925 sterling silver base, it reveals a spiral motif inspired by wind-shaped dunes—offering subtle, dynamic depth. Light dances across its surface, accentuating each undulation with finesse.

Accented with blue Super-LumiNova and set indexes, the dial strikes a delicate balance between engineering and emotion. The retrograde appliqué in white gold features champlevé Grand Feu enamel by Maëlle Constant, a specialist in this age-old technique. It adds a discreet yet precious touch—a testament to the meticulous attention paid to every detail.

The retrograde seconds complication is displayed at 6 o’clock over 120°, returning every 30 seconds—a captivating expression of mechanical poetry. The grade 5 titanium hands, satin-finished and beveled by hand, embody GUEBLY’s understated elegance.

This dial merges precision with craftsmanship, affirming the unique identity of GUEBLY.

A Movement, Redesigned

At the heart of the CH1 Rétrograde lies a thoroughly reengineered movement developed by Sylvain Pinault (Horocraft) and Christophe Beuchat. The 21.31 automatic caliber features a 5N gold micro-rotor, and bridges and plates crafted entirely from grade 5 titanium—an uncommon material in Haute Horlogerie.

Each element is adorned with meticulous manual finishes: fine microbeading, perlage, beveling, and straight-graining. Comprising 217 components and offering a 70-hour power reserve, the movement exemplifies remarkable craftsmanship. It boasts eight inward angles, a double-spiraled ratchet wheel, and screws mirror-polished by hand, alongside decorations that honor the most exacting standards of Swiss watchmaking.

Enduring by Design

The CH1 Rétrograde’s strap was designed to optimize comfort, functionality, and elegance. Made of grained blue calfskin with a blue rubber lining, it ensures absolute comfort throughout the day. The integrated quick-release system and easy-fit design add practical versatility to chic. A modern Velcro closure is paired with a hand-finished titanium buckle. Lightweight and water-resistant to 100 meters, the CH1 Rétrograde is a refined everyday companion—true to the GUEBLY ethos of uncompromising elegance.

CH1 Rétrograde: Where Past and Future Converge

With this second creation, GUEBLY reaffirms its vision of contemporary, rare, and deeply artisanal watchmaking. Far from fleeting trends, the CH1 Rétrograde expresses a lasting sense of time—anchored in Swiss tradition and driven by a commitment to enduring craftsmanship, timeless design, and horological innovation.

A timepiece for the aesthetically minded and for connoisseurs—for those who know that true time is lived with elegance.
