Vegan and cruelty-free luxury beauty brand, Hourglass Cosmetics, unveils this season’s highly coveted Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked palettes, featuring all new designs by London-based artist, Katie Scott. Celebrating the beauty of nature, this marks the second limited-edition collection with Scott to support the brand’s partnership with the Nonhuman Rights Project (NhRP) to secure fundamental rights for animals.
This season’s palettes feature a curated edit of Hourglass’ signature Ambient Lighting Powders that create a seamless, multidimensional glow. The collection of new and bestselling shades are housed in this year’s animal- inspired designs, comprised of the Jellyfish, Leopard, and Snake. For the first time, each includes all the essentials to create a glowing complexion in one sleek palette – finishing powder, blush, bronzer, and highlighter.
Also new for 2023 is an online exclusive design, The Owl, available only on hourglasscosmetics.com. Consumers can customize their palettes online, where they can choose both their desired palette and one of the four animal designs to create their own palette edit.
BEHIND THE EXCLUSIVE DESIGN
Hourglass has partnered with illustrator Katie Scott once again to create artwork for the new Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked collection. Known for her hand-drawn fine line work and digital water coloring, Scott’s 2023 collection reflects the vast spectrum of beauty in the animal kingdom.
On the second collaboration, Scott commented, “My illustrations focus on the beauty of the natural world, and I’ve always been aligned with Hourglass’s cruelty-free mission. I took inspiration for these designs from animals living in their natural elements of air, water, and land. Each animal represents their native habitat found in the world around us.”
THE UNLOCKED MISSON
Since 2017, the Unlocked Collection has supported the Nonhuman Rights Project’s mission of unlocking the cages of wild animals around the world. From the first elephant rights lawsuits in New York, California and Colorado, to securing animal’s legal rights for the first time in Pakistan and Argentina, NhRP’s work has had monumental legal breakthroughs to support animal welfare.
Hourglass donates 5% of net profits from Unlocked products to the NhRP’s efforts of securing fundamental rights for animals. AMBIENT LIGHTING EDIT PALETTES
Utilizing groundbreaking Photoluminescent Technology, the versatile range of finishing powder, bronzer, blush and highlighter allow you to create your perfect light and refine skin’s appearance for a flawless and radiant look. For the first time, each six-pan palette includes shades of finishing powder, blush, bronzer and highlighter to create your perfect flush and a lit-from-within glow. The shades can be used individually or layered together for a soft-
focus, multidimensional glow.
- The Jellyfish palette includes three new shades – the Rose Fusion blush, the Lunar Bronze bronzer, and the Opal Strobe Light highlighter.
- The Leopard palette features one new shade – a blush, Ethereal Flush.
- The Snake palette debuts five new shades comprised of three blushes: Coral Haze, Sun Beam, and Mystic Flush; the Solar Bronze bronzer, and the Infinite Strobe Light highlighter.
The palettes can be beautifully paired with the limited-edition Veil Travel Powder Brush featuring the Snake design.
