On the occasion of Milan Design Week, Jil Sander unveiled a new edition of the Design Talks, reaffirming its commitment to fostering a sophisticated dialogue between fashion, design, and craftsmanship.
Moderated by journalist Dan Thawley, the discussion delved into the creative process and vision behind the new fragrance collection Olfactory Series 1. The talk featured Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin of the design studio Formafantasma, alongside master perfumer Julie Massé.
The event offered an exclusive look at the design of the new bottle, the result of a collaboration between Jil Sander and Formafantasma. Inspired by the iconic The Woman Pure bottle (Peter Schmidt, 1979), now part of the MoMA collection in New York, Olfactory Series 1 blends technology and botany in six essential and vibrant unisex fragrances. Each bottle, crafted with an artisanal approach using advanced industrial techniques, is unique in shape and glass distribution—making every piece one of a kind.
The distinctive white aluminum cap, shaped like a bell, completes the design with both functional and symbolic intent, turning the act of applying fragrance into an intimate, mindful ritual.
Following its debut at the Matter & Shape Fair in Paris in 2024 and the success of its second edition in March 2025, the Jil Sander Design Talks continue their journey. The next stop will be in May, at the Venice Architecture Biennale, featuring a new collaboration focused on the world of design.
