Levi’s® introduces its Spring/Summer 2024 Made in Japan collection, showcasing a blend of traditional Japanese denim craftsmanship with contemporary designs. This collection highlights premium selvedge denim from the Kaihara Denim Mill in Hiroshima, known for its intricate rope dyeing techniques that produce stunning indigo shades. Partnering with the skilled artisans at SAAB, each piece is meticulously cut, sewn, and finished by hand, transforming cotton into modern, wearable art.
The collection features an array of men’s and women’s denim, including unique takes on classic fits. Women can choose from styles like the Made in Japan Column and High Rise Slim, adorned with colorful embroidery and distinctive finishes. Men’s options include the 1980s 501® jeans and the 505® Regular Fit, some with special patches or bleached effects for a modern twist. Additionally, the line offers denim jackets and shorts, perfect for warmer weather, all embellished with artful touches and collection-exclusive details, such as the Made in Japan backpatch and Hinomaru-inspired labels.
Design Director Paul O’Neill emphasizes the collection’s focus on Japanese craftsmanship, enriched with colorful embroidery and innovative finishes, aiming to offer elevated pieces that meld traditional techniques with a modern edge. The Spring/Summer 2024 Made in Japan collection is now available on Levi.com, the Levi’s® App, and select stores, continuing Levi’s® legacy of classic American style infused with effortless cool.
