Possession Palace Décor

From the very first glance, it’s all there: the gold craftsmanship, the weight of the metal, the pavé of precious stones, the setting of the central diamond, the gadroons on the outer body, and the spinning band. Displaying signature style in this new set of pieces, Piaget has returned to its roots. Marvel at the jewellery’s shape and size, pick out its intricate details, imagine how it feels to wear it. From the moment it brushes the skin, each piece of jewellery from the Piaget atelier impresses with its meticulous finish, its size – reminiscent of the 90s – and its daring design.

POSSESSION:  A CHANGING ICON

Turn the band one way to recall your favourite memories. Turn it the other way to create new ones. This ring is your talisman – own the moment. Whether the pieces draw on the purity of diamonds or the intensity of sapphires, set in a colour scale of rainbow hues, precious stones nestle into precious metal, marrying perfectly with the gold craftsmanship. Created in rose gold or white gold, in different sizes and settings, the beauty of the Possession Palace Décor ring, in its many variations, is something everyone can agree on. This extends right down to the setting of the same name, the setting we call “Possession”, which holds the central diamond between two brackets engraved in gold, so that the stone seems to stand proud by itself. The version with a row of pavé diamonds beside the Palace Décor band is enhanced by a larger set diamond, in contrast with the pavé version that sports a double row of diamonds in two different diameters. On the second model, the diamonds are surrounded by Palace Décor engraving, giving it a strikingly modern, exquisite appearance.

The set of rings also draws attention to the crowning jewel of the collection. All eyes will be on this piece: a bangle created in three versions, including two gold models – one with a single set diamond and one with two rows of pavé diamonds on either side of the central motif. Palace Décor stands out on the body of the bangle, on the mini spinning band in the centre, and in the central diamond set between Possession brackets.

A MAJOR CHALLENGE: MOVING TOWARDS FULLY INTEGRATED PRODUCTION

Since he took on the role of CEO two years ago, Benjamin Comar has worked tirelessly to reorganise the integrated Manufacture in Plan-Les-Ouates, on the outskirts of Geneva. What was the aim behind this reorganisation? To increase productivity and carve out a place for the creation of jewellery, now a fully integrated production process. Successfully reorganising the entire design and production process of this brand, set to celebrate its 150th anniversary in spring, was a real challenge, one that our teams have tackled in record time. Naturally, their success lies in their technical prowess, but also in their human efforts to push the boundaries of what they knew to be possible. Together, they strove to find an expert, daring way to rethink Piaget’s traditional codes. This challenge was significant: the same visual signature as that seen on the finest high jewellery had to come across on larger pieces, created to suit the demands of everyday life. To do so, the Manufacture harnessed its teams’ motivation, taking inspiration from Frank Sinatra’s iconic Fly Me to the Moon – a code name for the plan that allowed Piaget to hit the stars in record time.

Since 1874, Piaget has presented itself as a watchmaking Maison, performing extremely precise mechanical processes with great finesse. The Manufacture’s craftspeople gradually learned to apply their skill and savoir-faire to the art of making jewellery. The boldness of the Possession bangle lies in the fusion of technique, form and the Maison’s creative legacy.

All this feeds into the excellent proportions and the smooth feel of the jewellery. The perfect weight and unique finish of these pieces reflect the ever-growing mastery and expertise of Piaget’s highly skilled jewellers.

POSSESSION PALACE DÉCOR: UNBRIDLED CREATIVITY

Piaget has been incorporating Palace Décor into its collections since the 1960s – a technique for engraving gold that gives body and texture to this precious metal. It was inspired by the guilloché technique, traditionally used on watch dials, and works on both form and substance. Its uniqueness shines bright even in the lowest of lighting. Sophistication meets daring – a fundamental tenet of Piaget’s legacy.

To place Palace Décor at the very heart of its collection is to give meaning to the changing face of Possession throughout Piaget’s history. This collection strikes us with its timelessness in the present day, bridging the modern and the contemporary. Light, masterful, instantly recognisable, with a strong identity and iconic features, every Piaget Possession creation stands out as intensely desirable and resolutely modern. Expertise creates emotion.
