In the historic Frigoriferi Milanesi, where precious objects have been kept and restored over generations, Sportmax presents its Spring-Summer 2026 collection. This storied location has had many incarnations throughout its lifetime, yet what remains is a devotion to conservation and restoration as a study of the past to understand the future—a practice that resonates deeply with the brand’s own design philosophy.
Sportmax is a response to the rhythm of the times—when life ebbs, it flows. This season, in times of shifting ground, the instinctive impulse to look outward was central to the story. Inside the restoration laboratory above the Frigoriferi Milanesi, one object captured this concept perfectly: an antique telescope that had waited decades to be made whole again, emphasising a need for perspective, for joy and lightness, for forms of quiet escape.
The collection embraces dreaminess without losing its footing, a fantasy grounded in the practical realities of urban life. Through fabrics that respond to movement and light, fluidity and lightness become the guiding principle. Organza emerges in unexpected applications: a classic trench coat, sheer trousers that maintain their structure, and as weightless linings that transform the feel of tailoring and outerwear. The iconic doublé wool and soft glove leather provide solid grounding, fashioned into archetypal essentials designed for infinite recombination.
Twists of imaginary flowers express the visual language. Layers of botanical patterns, conceived from drawings painted with Japanese cosmetics, liquid lipsticks, and nail polishes, follow one another in transparent overlays that create optical illusions, moving in unison with the wearer. They give life to vibrant colors that transcend reality. Simultaneously, hand-moulded leather flowers bloom into sculptural halter tops, rendering them in three-dimensional form.
Speaking to women in perpetual motion, the season’s silhouette is architectural in precision and yet unrestrictive. Strategic cuts and openings create breathing room while glimpses of skin exude sensuality. Gilets and bras become foundational pieces, made to be worn above or beneath fluid ensembles in deliberate plays of opacity and transparency. Architectural knitwear flirts with light and shadow, creating geometric forms that move between fitted precision and feminine fluidity.
Kitten heels are also offered in a mule version, for women who move with intention. A new soft bag punctuates the silhouette, with its signature S-hardware and hand-moulded leather flower charms. Sportmax strips away the superfluous, focusing instead on lasting beauty, functional design and sensuality.
