Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Primera Dama

The Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Primera Dama is inspired by 1930s Havana, a world where dance, music and hedonistic delights were the order of the day. Unequivocally feminine, this ladies’ watch, endued with numerous bewitching details, is suitable for any occasion.

Cuervo y Sobrinos invites you to step back in time and imagine life in the 1930s, a period when Cuba enticed legions of tourists to its vibrant streets and sun-kissed shores. With prohibition in the US continuing until December 1933, the Caribbean Island, positioned just 90 miles off the coast of Florida, offered liberal drinking laws and other hedonistic delights. Stars of the silver screen, famous politicians and mobsters frequented the island’s casinos, while couples danced to big band swing music before spilling out of the various art deco buildings into the sultry streets, still brimming with life even in the early hours.

Celebrating this energetic period in Cuban history, Cuervo y Sobrinos unveils a new collection of ladies’ watches, the Historiador Primera Dama. This extensive array of period-inspired models is unabashedly feminine. Every version of the Historiador Primera Dama is endowed with a mother of pearl dial, most of which are executed in vibrant tones. Each dial is enlivened with 3 or 12 diamonds, further heightening the overall sense of sophistication. Leaf-shaped hour and minute hands impart meaning free of ambiguity.

Housed in a 36mm case and measuring 7.8mm in height, the Historiador Primera Dama is elegantly slender. The case options include stainless steel or stainless steel with PVD coating, the latter conferring a warm golden hue. Consistent with other Historiador models, the lugs feature an ergonomic design, optimising wearer comfort. Some references feature a bezel set with 58 diamonds, augmenting the model’s bewitching allure. To the rear of the watch, the caseback is embellished with a depiction of an elegant lady wearing a cloche hat, typical of the era, set off with a curling feather.

The watch is offered on a colour-coordinated glossy Louisiana alligator strap or a matching bracelet. At the heart of this timepiece sits the CyS 1005 calibre, a quartz movement that delivers a high level of precision and does not need require winding.

Cuervo y Sobrinos invites you to celebrate the past with a watch ideally suited to the present and beyond.
