From world travel to the creative voyage behind writing, the Maison celebrates the transformative power of journeys at Salone dei Tessuti.
Montblanc presented its upcoming collections during Milan Fashion week with an exclusive breakfast preview for media, influencers, and VIP guests at Salone dei Tessuti. The event, attended by notable guests including Lucky Blue Smith, Alex Pettyfer, Henry Golding, Bianca Brandolini and Alice Pagani, explored the concept of “The Journey,” focusing on its symbolic role in self-expression through the art of writing.
Conveying this theme at the heart of the showroom was “The Tree of Writing,” a captivating art installation created in collaboration with the art studio Edinas Paper, Montblanc’s longtime partner. Crafted entirely from paper, the tree features book pages as leaves, with each page carrying an inspirational quote selected by Montblanc Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta. With its flourishing branches overlooking the showroom, “The Tree of Writing” symbolizes how writing traverses time and space to connect people, preserve memories and inspire generation after generation, just as it extends throughout Montblanc’s roots to inspire its collections today.
The showroom also featured a custom bronze sculpture co-created by Tomasetta and acclaimed Italian sculptor Andrea Roggi. Inspired by Montblanc’s “The Tree of Writing,” Roggi, who is best known for his “Tree of Life” works, reimagined the bronze sculpture’s olive leaves as delicate book pages, celebrating the power of knowledge and the written word.
“Since the beginning, Montblanc has designed pieces to accompany people on their journeys—whether crossing borders and cultures or exploring life by putting pen to paper. Paying homage to this concept at Milan Fashion week, a global destination where boundless creativity converges and people travel to from around the world, seemed only fitting. The showroom offers an opportunity to reflect on what ‘the journey’ means to us and spotlight its relationship with writing – an act that has the power to capture a personal journey and be a transformative journey in itself,” says Marco Tomasetta, Montblanc Artistic Director.
During the breakfast preview, guests were invited to sit at the Montblanc Desk, designed by Marco Tomasetta, to pause and put pen to paper. The piece marks Montblanc’s first venture into furniture design, blending form and function in line with the Maison’s writing heritage.
The showroom also explored travel as one of the founding influences of Montblanc. The entrance corridor evoked the golden age of train travel, inspired by Montblanc’s early advertising campaigns from the 1920s and the era of Montblanc’s safety pens – writing instruments designed for leak-proof reliability on long journeys which formed a key part of the Maison’s history.
In the main showroom space, guests were able to view Montblanc’s Fall/Winter 2025 novelties, envisioned by Tomasetta as lifelong companions for personal discovery. At the heart of the new collections was the Writing Traveller, an elevated handbag design meticulously crafted to hold desk essentials, from writing instruments to notebooks. The piece bridges Montblanc’s leather craftsmanship with the universe of the desk
New compact leather designs, including a small bowling bag, a selection of multifunctional wearable wallets and cross-body bags continued Montblanc’s interplay of small and large volumes. In addition to a refined grain leather that could be seen throughout the collections, the Fall/Winter 2025 lines also introduced new finishes, including ostrich print leather and a jacquard pattern inspired by Montblanc’s 1920s archival designs, alongside an earthy color palette drawn from the natural elements at the base of Mont Blanc mountain.
